Monroe County Motor Hotels Downtown Monroe has no hotel suitable for the business traveler or a convention group. Fortunately, we do have many motor hotels located along both interstate I-75 at the Monroe exits and US 23 at Dundee. Travelers having business in both The Monroe, Detroit Toledo and Ann Arbor areas find these motor hotels convenient and affordable. The Village Luna Pier is a small friendly town with a nice motel and several restaurants. SUPER 8 MOTEL NOTICE: This is not represented to be an official information source for the City or County of Monroe Michigan. This web site is not taxpayer or motor hotel ratepayer supported. It is a volunteer service by a local citizen. As a citizen, I can state that I do not feel that a county approved tax assessment on each lodging bill incurred at any Monroe County lodging facility with 10 or more rooms is fair or equitable to the business traveler or tourist, nor does it have proper oversight. Although they share the same building and website, The Monroe County Convention & Tourism Bureau (CTB) is an entity separate from the Chamber of Commerce. That funding mechanism was set up when the Monroe County Board of Commissioners passed an enabling ordinance allowing innkeepers to charge such an assessment for the expressed purpose of funding tourism promotion.
